Kelsey had me at hello. I felt connected to her from her first email inquiry where she gushed about her relationship with Sean and their seven year courtship. She described her ideas and vision for a modern boho backyard wedding at her parents home in Petaluma, a small town in Sonoma’s wine country and her desire to use only locally sourced vendors for everything, well everything except me. This was a community event that brought together friends and family and focused on sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Every decision about their wedding was made from the heart. On their wedding day their family welcomed me with open arms, filled my bag with local coffee and treats, and even now that the wedding is long over are still some of the most consistent commenters on my Instagram page. This is what I love so much about photographing weddings…connecting to people and maintaining relationships long after the day has passed.
