I was connected to Kiara through our mutual friend Melissa who directed her most recent music video of the Westworld theme song. Kiara and Kiel have been married for a year so in honor of their upcoming anniversary they put their wedding outfits back on and we headed to Malibu to do a vow renewal couples shoot. Sunset in Malibu is one of my favorite sites. When we rolled up to the ocean there was barely anyone around us and you could just see stretches of sand and sea. I met Kiara and Kiel at one of the lifeguard towers and I saw that Kiara that the most wonderful bouquet that she had made herself. It was a little wild and bohemian and just perfect. During our time together we spoke about their love of animals and passion for being vegans and they told me about the most amazing vegan restaurant in Los Angeles called Gracias Madre, which has since become one of my all time favorites in West Hollywood. We meandered down the beach onto one of the coves where Once at the beach we climbed rocks and laughed until our bellies hurt. They frolicked in the water, got caught in waves (myself included) and dried off in the warmth of the sunset glow on the cliffs above. Photographing and connecting with couples is what fills my cup. I’m in constant awe that I get to do this for a living. To be in nature in all it’s healing beauty with likeminded folks who love the environment as much as do, who trust me to make some magic with them that we will all remember for forever!
