There are so many places to elope in Malibu, California. From the beaches to the canyons there are endless opportunities for beautiful locations. I’ve been photographing elopements and small weddings throughout California for the last 7 years and I have to say that Stonewall Ranch is one of the most beautiful private property wedding venues I’ve come across. I stumbled on it by happenstance when a client had called me to tell me she was considering getting married at this” beautiful house in Malibu” that her friend owned. A place that she grew up going to over the years with her group of girlfriends. After we got off the phone I started researching and came across Stonewall Ranch. I was floored and just had to see it in person so I emailed the owner and off I went that weekend to check it out. It was even more beautiful in person. You drive up a long dusty road lined with horses and gardens all of the way up to the top where there’s this epic ceremony location overlooking the ocean. Really so romantic for an elopement.
I had the pleasure of working with some of my favorite female boss ladies (and one lovely man) at the new gorgeous venue in Malibu called Stonewall Ranch. This place is set on acres and acres of land purchased in the 70s, back when Malibu was full of hippies and farmers. Karen, the owner of the property told me her first date with her husband was riding horses through his land on the full moon. So yeah you could say that there are major romantic vibes happening here. One of my favorite things about this part of southern California, when you’re nestled up high in the canyons, is the epic sunsets. As the day came to an end and the sun dipped below the horizon line the clouds rolled in like a beautiful fog creating a dream-like atmosphere that can only happen in Malibu.
