Glen Oaks Big Sur Wedding
This Glen Oaks Big Sur wedding gives me all the feels. The beauty of elopements in Big Sur is unparalleled. It’s a magical ancient blessed land and you can feel the energy as soon as you enter the area. The rugged California coastline meets the serenity of giant old-growth Redwoods and state parks in between. A sprinkling of amazing restaurants makes it one of my favorite places on planet Earth. If you haven’t been to the Big Sur Coast consider this an invitation to take a trip there and perhaps start dreaming about your own elopement up in Northern California.
I climbed out of my tent at 4 am and got on the road to meet Pam and Osiris in the little parking area of Glen Oaks. The fog was so thick that I had to turn the windshield wipers on to help see the road ahead. It was so romantic, beautiful, and otherworldly like the beginnings of a really great novel set in Europe. We passed cows and horses on the way and wound our way through Highway One eventually ending at our destination Garrapata State Park. We hiked down the path to the hills above the beach for their sunrise elopement portraits and they poured some coffee and opened up two of their favorite pastries from their local Mexican bakery to enjoy while we watch the sunrise over the ocean. We took the time to let the intimacy of the moment sink in. These beautiful few hours before they exchanged vows are so important. The fog was rolling so thick it was giving us Jurassic Park vibes! We ran down to the beach barefooted and played in the sands. After our time on the beach, we hopped in the car and drove down to the cliffs, and adventured around on the rocks. We also had to make a stop at Bixby bridge, the iconic wonder before heading south to reach their Glen Oaks Big Sur wedding. We met their family on property for their intimate ceremony among the beautiful Redwoods.
