Maui Couples & Engagement Photographer — Cinematic Sunrise, Sunset & Honeymoon Sessions
Photos that feel like Maui felt.
There’s a version of your trip to Maui where you come home with a few phone photos, a blurry selfie at dinner, and a vague memory of how it all felt.
And then there’s the version where you remember it forever.
The windows down driving the coast at sunset. Salt on your skin after swimming in the ocean. Coffee barefoot on the lanai of your Airbnb while the island slowly wakes up around you. Champagne on the cliffs after the sun disappears. The way Maui felt together — not just what it looked like.
That’s what these sessions are really about.
Not stiff posing. Not performing for a camera. Not spending your entire evening taking photos instead of living your trip.
Just the two of you experiencing Maui together while I quietly document it in a way that feels cinematic, emotional, and real.
I’m a Maui couples photographer specializing in engagement sessions, honeymoon photography, anniversary sessions, and proposals. Whether you’re celebrating a new chapter or simply want to remember your time on the island together, I’ll help create photographs that feel natural, cinematic, and deeply connected to Maui.
More Than Just Beach Photos
Most couples I photograph here aren’t looking for traditional vacation photos.
They’re honeymooning. Celebrating an engagement. Marking an anniversary. Planning a proposal. Or simply wanting to remember this season of their lives in a place that already feels meaningful to them.
Some sessions are simple:
sunrise on the cliffs, wind in your hair, barefoot in the ocean afterward.
Others become more immersive:
starting slowly at your hotel or Airbnb, driving the coast together, stopping somewhere beautiful for sunset, maybe ending the night with champagne, sushi, or a swim beneath the stars.
The best sessions don’t feel like photoshoots.
They feel like memories while they’re happening.

Engagement Sessions in Maui
Maui is one of the most beautiful places in the world to celebrate this season of your relationship.
Some couples come here right after getting engaged. Others are planning a proposal and want it documented quietly and naturally without turning the moment into a production.
As a Maui engagement photographer, my goal is never just to create “pretty engagement photos.” It’s to create images that actually feel like the two of you — connected, present, emotional, and fully immersed in the experience of being here together.
Whether that looks like champagne at sunset on the cliffs, a slow morning at your Airbnb, or running barefoot into the ocean after golden hour, the best engagement sessions feel lived-in rather than overly posed.

Sunrise vs Sunset on Maui
I photograph sessions almost exclusively at sunrise or sunset because the light completely changes the feeling of the images.
Sunrise is quieter, softer, calmer. The wind is usually lighter in the mornings across most of the island, the beaches are emptier, and everything feels slower and more intimate.
Sunset is warmer, richer, more cinematic. The light deepens as the sun drops, especially along the cliffs and western coastline, and the entire island starts glowing.
And yes — Haleakalā is incredible at both sunrise and sunset. Watching the light change above the clouds feels almost unreal. Sessions there are available with an additional travel fee.

Maui Couples Session Ideas
Some couples keep things beautifully simple. Others turn the session into part of the experience of the trip itself.
A few favorite ideas:
• Cliffside sunset sessions on the North Shore
• Ocean swims after golden hour
• Cozy Airbnb or hotel sessions
• Champagne at sunset overlooking the ocean
• Pool or hot tub sessions
• Upcountry drives with the windows down
• Haleakalā sunrise or sunset sessions
• Picnic setups in the back of a vintage truck
• Honeymoon storytelling sessions across multiple locations
If you’re not sure what fits your trip, I’ll help guide you toward locations, timing, and experiences that feel natural and true to you both.
One of the first questions couples ask is where we should go.
The answer depends less on what’s “best” and more on what feels most like you.
Some couples are drawn to the dramatic cliffs and rugged coastline of West Maui. Others love the golden beaches of South Maui. Some want the rolling fields and cooler air of Upcountry, while others are dreaming of something lush and tropical along the Road to Hana.
Every part of Maui feels different. Part of my job is helping you choose a location that fits the experience you want to have—not just the photos you want to take.
What It Feels Like
Almost everyone tells me some version of:
“We’re awkward in photos.”
And honestly? That’s normal.
My approach is intentionally slower and more grounded than traditional posing-heavy photography. I’ll guide you when you need it, but most of the session is simply creating space for you to actually experience the moment together instead of worrying about how you look.
Within ten minutes, most couples stop thinking about the camera entirely.
That’s when the real photographs happen.
The wind catches your dress. You start laughing. You forget where your hands are supposed to go because you’re no longer performing. You’re just there together in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
And that’s always the goal.
Maui Honeymoon Photography & Extended Experiences
For couples wanting something even more immersive, longer storytelling sessions and custom experiences are also available.

This might look like:
• beginning at your hotel or Airbnb
• documenting a slow honeymoon morning together
• exploring multiple parts of the island
• sunset on the cliffs
• ending the night with a picnic, swim, sail, or dinner reservation
These sessions are less about “taking photos” and more about preserving the feeling of your time here together.
The Investment
Maui couples and engagement sessions begin at $1,500.
Most sessions are around 90 minutes and include:
• Personalized location and timing guidance
• Sunrise or sunset coverage
• A fully edited online gallery
• Personal printing rights
• Access to optional experience recommendations and add-ons
Additional travel fees may apply for locations like Haleakalā or remote areas of the island.
