Adventurous Elopement at Bash Bish Falls in New York
Did you know there are so many beautiful Hudson Valley elopement locations? The whole area has amazing hikes and lakes and other secret beautiful locations for an elopement. There’s something so magical about waterfalls, right? The rush of excitement and pure power that you can feel radiating off of the falls. The cool mist that brushes past your cheek. It’s really a powerful outdoor location for an elopement and a thrilling way to start your intimate marriage journey.
While it was still dark, around 4:30 am I met Hello Lucy Blooms to grab the elopement bouquet. Along the way I saw a bunch of baby deer bounding across my path and when I pulled into Bash Bish Waterfall, which is right on the New York and Massachusetts border I was the only one in the parking lot. I walked around and waited for a little while for Gina and Kani to meet me around sunrise.
Once they arrived they changed into their outfits at the trailhead and we set off for our adventure!! When we first started walking down the path there was a beautiful river that ran next to us and the walk to the Falls was a quick 30 minutes. When we arrived at the waterfall we were the only ones there, we didn’t pass a soul, which is one of my favorite things about sunrise elopements. You often really popular spots to yourselves. It’s the largest waterfall in the state of Massachusetts so it can get crowded as the day goes on.
We hopped around on the different rocks and took some time to just stand there and listen to the sound of the rushing water, appreciate the beauty and take it all in. It was a really relaxed time, eventually, they popped open a bottle of craft beer and sat on a blanket, and shared stories about how they met on Tinder and all of their beautiful life experiences that they’ve shared up until this moment. Kani, who is an avid trail runner, mentioned that the first time he knew Gina was “the one” was when he invited her trail running on a trail that looked similar so choosing Bash Bish as a Hudson Valley elopement location felt full circle and serendipitous.
Here’s to Gina and Kani, and their Hudson Valley elopement waterfall love.
