Photographing adventure elopements throughout Southern California, especially in Joshua Tree national park is an absolute dream. I’m usually one of four people including the couple and their officiant but sometimes my clients like to have a little intimate elopement wedding and invite a small number of guests. That’s exactly what Victoria and Charlie did for their Joshua Tree elopement. They gathered 10 of their family members and we all drove down from Los Angeles to the desert on a beautiful Fall day.  As soon as you enter Joshua Tree National Park you lose cell service so it’s very important to have a set location and plan mapped out ahead of time. Everyone met up early for their Cap Rock elopement and I scouted the location for the ceremony nestled between the rock. There were so many beautiful places to pick for their Joshua Tree elopement that it was difficult to choose just one! Somehow Charlie and Victoria managed to not see each other until her father walked her down the dusty desert aisle! This was achieved by driving separately in different cars and Victoria hanging back about 10 minutes after Charlie walked towards the rock. After the ceremony, we spent some time around the rock doing candid shots of their family before they left back for their Airbnb in Palm Springs. After, we meandered around the park for portraits and the epic desert sunset. Have you ever witnessed a sunset in Joshua Tree? If not you should add that to your bucket list as they are so dreamy. Just look at that sky it’s crazy, right?! As our time together came to a close Charlie turned to me and asked, “How does it feel to be a part of such an important day of someone’s life”.
